6 months pregnant!!!!

This is me at 6 months pregnant. It's not a fabulous picture but it shows me in all my glory!
This is my proud accomplishment! It's a quilt that I started with CWDA and just finished last week. I have to say that it was not the easiest thing to do but it turned out great! Part of the reason that I wanted to finish it and do it right was that I want to make Logan a baby blanket and I want it to look good. Hopefully this blanket gave me a little more experience. I do want to thank my mother-in-law Michele who helped me pick fabric and walked me through exactly how to do it. I don't think that I could of done it with out her help. Thanks!!!
So these shush kabobs might be my only really pregnancy craving. Weird I know but they sounded good for weeks before we got around to making them. I took pictures because I love how pretty they are!
They were so tasty!
A few weeks ago we went down to the park by the river for "Taste of Omaha" we actually didn't eat there cause it was all greasy booths but we did see this guy who was wake boarding in a box. It didn't look like near as much fun as wake boarding in the river but it was cool to see & a new one for us.

Little Dude

So this is a silly post but it was a good day for us.

Sunday during church I jumped because Logan kicked me so hard that it suprised me, and that was just the start. All Sunday night while we were hanging out watching this old TV show on Netflix you may of heard of it it was SeaQuest. Anyway's so apparently Logan was feeling extra active because I was getting beat up from the inside out. Tyson could feel it & you could even watch my stomach move, honestly for a while there it was like 20 kicks in a row. I think he was trying to swim or something. But believe it or not it was fun! My baby is still pretty little I'm at 26weeks but man is he tuff and active! It was a great way to spend our Sunday afternoon, together & "playing" with Logan!

Who's that guy with Katie?

So this is probably the Tyson that we are use to seeing. On Saturday we woke up and I asked him what we were going to do. He said that he was thinking of cutting his hair. Now he has said this before, so I just said okay and we went on. When we went to leave I told him I had to take a picture of the before hair. Here they are.

And here is the moment of triumph!
Look at the difference in length half way through!!!

Check out how great Tyson looks!

I am not saying that the long hair was the worse thing ever, and it did look okay when he did his hair but Omaha humidity as the first picture illustrates will makes it a poof ball! We went for a walk around our neighborhood after the haircut and it was funny how many people commented. At Church today Tyson said that people kept staring at his head even if they didn't say anything about it. LOL. I think 3 people said they were wondering who I was with hence the title. I personally like his hair better short!!!

A few days in Florida!

During Tyson's break before summer semester starts we went to FLORIDA! It was all Tyson & our friend Joeys idea. Joey is from Mississippi & we met him & Noel at BYU-I. Joey has always tried to convince Tyson that he needs to go to Florida with him & so they picked a time & although I always said "of course I will go to Florida", I never thought it would actually happen!!!

Joey, Noel, Hyrum (7mo), & Katie & Tyson

I will say that the trip didn't start out smoothly. We changed Tyson's flight last minute because we found a Tahoe in Alabama that we wanted to buy (we couldn't find anything for a decent price in Omaha).  So Tyson flew out Wednesday morning bright and early and picked up the car in Huntington, AL & then I flew out later that day after working a few hours to meet him but I was flying into Mobile, AL because it is closer to Destin, FL where we stayed & played. Any who so I was a idiot & for some reason had it stuck in my head that I was going to Huntington and so I went to the wrong terminal & then by the time I realized it I had missed my flight. It sucked & I still feel sick about it when I think about it but life did go on. I stayed the night in Memphis, which was not really that fun to do by myself, I felt extra vulnerable because I am pregnant too. But it all worked out I was on standby for a Thursday morning flight on which I got the last seat, phew! Tyson was pretty understanding about the whole thing, he teases me about not catching the right plane but he was a good sport about driving to Mobile to get me, then to Destin to sleep (about 3hrs) then back to the airport to get me, then back to Destin to vaca. We did buy the Tahoe too, and  we love it! This picture doesn't show it very well but I really like the color, it is blue but it shines more of a greenish color.

Anyways after I actually got to Destin, which is on the Gulf of Mexico kinda by Pensacola, Our vacation was a lot of fun. Tyson got to go Scuba diving with Joey, they are both certified, he did a shipwreck dive and an open water dive, both of which were first for him. He said they saw a barracuda & lots of fish & it was just fun! We spent most of our time on the beach just playing in the nice warm water and relaxing. We did go out to some yummy restaurants with great seafood!
One of my favorite things that we did was go Crab catching. You have to go late at night so we went at like 11pm & I forgot our camera but you just walk along the beach in the shallows with a net & bucket and shine a flashlight in the water to see the crabs. It was mating season we think so they were everywhere! We probably caught like 30 crabs, they were pretty small & white. I think I have been brainwashed to think crabs are red, but these were white. It was a blast. Then when we were walking back to the house (it was like 2 blocks from the beach) we saw these little quick crabs and tried to catch them. Tyson said that Joey & I were hilarious to watch because he was so much faster then us and he went between my legs once & I was screaming and jumping up and down. A little irrational because this crab had a body about he size of a marble and really long legs but still he was tiny. It was a great trip. Here are a few pictures! It was so beautiful!

Tyson always makes a face at the camera, but he is cute!
I love this picture of us but the wind and humidity makes Tyson's hair a little crazy!

This is the only picture that I have that kinda shows off my baby boy!

Joey & Noel throwing little Hyrum carefully. He loved this!

Hyrum also loved to eat the sand

Babies, Finals, & Car's!

So today was a very exciting day.
#1 Tyson took his last test and passed it so now he is a Sophomore dental student! Congrats and yeah to Tyson. We have 2 full weeks of no school and hopefully no stress.
#2 we started the purchasing process to buy a Tahoe. It's in Alabama so we have to go get it but it's exciting none the less!
And #3 the best news is that we found out today if it's a boy or girl!!!! ITS A BOY!!!! We are so excited. Tyson said he knew it all along but I don't really have a feeling one way or the other.  We got some great ultrasound pix & Tyson got to come to my appointment! Our little boy already has a name, Logan Turrell Beck. I was so worried that we wouldn't be able to agree on a name but it was actually really easy to name the little man.

These are my 3D pix of the dude, he kept opening and closing his mouth and moving his hand around. It was so something you would see a baby do out of the womb so it was fun to see!
My baby is snuggling with me! Okay so that sounds a little weird but isn't he cute! It must by Mother's love cause he's not really "cute" but I love too see him!
So this is Logan all curled up by my bladder, he likes it down there. He is so far 9 oz, 7 inches, & in the 42% for his age. we figure he is about he size of Tyson's hand. CRAZY he is getting so much bigger.

So can you tell that it's a BOY. It took a little coaxing to get this picture, he was trying to be modest but we wanted to make sure it was definitely a boy! YES, most defiantly.
I like this one because of his little foot. SO CUTE!!!

The other exciting thing about today is not as exciting as everything else but we did buy blue paint for the baby room! Tomorrow we are painting!!! I think that today was the most exciting day of my pregnancy by far! Now I get to start decorating the nursery!

Girls weekend

Last weekend we had our 2nd annual "Girls weekend" with my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law. It was a great time we went to Seattle, WA the Emerald City. I didn't even know that it was called that till this past weekend. It really is green everywhere too. I thought that Omaha was green compaired to Kennewick but Seattle is much greener and fuller. We had a great time at Pike place market just seeing what they had and getting a few snacks. We also went to the Space Needle, which I haven't been to the top of since I was really little! It was a great day so you could see Mount Rainer, the bay, & the city all at once, not a normal sight. We also went to a bead show & got a couple of great projects to work on. I think it is a tradition for the girls to do beading whenever we get together. I love just sitting and talking and working on a project.
This is a rather silly picture but I liked this chair for some reason, I was also the only one that would sit in it for a photo moment, I guess I figure I can use pregnancy as an excuse if I get called a big pig!
We kept finding this cool artwork that you could take great pix in. This is my mother-in-law Michele, Me, & Keslie

Keslie posing on the artwork just outside of the Space Needle.

Necia, Me, Keslie, & Lauren all supermodels at heart!
Just having fun!
Lauren, Keslie, Necia & I at the top of the Space Needle looking at the bay & city
I really liked this view for some reason.
This was Michele's project, a charm bracelet

Necia's projects, the bracelet, & necklace. Lauren designs these pendants that have your last name's initial & all the names of the people in your family. They are really cute & Lauren was so kind as to make them for us! Thanks again Lauren!

This is Keslie with her cute necklace. We stayed up all night working on this jewelry but it was a lot of fun. Last year we had 3 babies & next year I will have my baby so this was an extra special trip. I always look forward to a weekend away and some girl time with the only sisters I have! Thanks again everyone it was great!!!

Spring Dental Assembly fun

Last weekend was BUSY! But lots of fun. Tyson's Parents, Turrell, & Michele came to visit us and go to Dental Assembly. Tyson Dad is alumni & Tyson did this presentation at the conference that he had talked to his Dad about & I think he wanted to see it, so they came. Tyson & Turrell had classes Thursday and Friday & I had work but that didn't really stop us. We had a great time.

Saturday Michele & I went shopping to finish the quilt that we started for CWDA & I discovered that Michele is the quilting queen! It was a lot of fun figuring out what we wanted to do and she was great at picking out fabric & getting a plan on how to finish this quilt. (This will be my 1st quilt!!!) We did have a small hiccup at Country Sampler. We were standing at a desk figuring out how much fabric we would need to get the borders right and I just got light headed and had to sit down. A second later I was sweating & apparently turning white and just said to the teller sorry I have to lay down. I felt like I was either going to pass out or throw up. Neither sounded great. After a few minutes I was better and Michele & the teller decided that I had low blood sugar. It makes sense I usually snack in the morning & we had been so busy that I hadn't thought about it. I was so embarrassed though, here I am just pregnant enough to start showing a little laying on the floor of a fabric store... good thing the lady helping us was nice! I had lunch and we went shopping & I was great but man, that stunk! No worries I am fine, I just have to eat more I guess... & here I thought that I was gaining PLENTY of weight. (Normal clothes don't fit but maternity clothes are a little big) Shopping consisted of maternity clothes & more maternity clothes. THANK YOU to Michele we found some great summer clothes that I can still wear to work!

While Michele & I shopped the boys went shooting. Tyson loves shooting guns and I am pretty sure it's genetic. They went to this place north of us in the middle-of-no-where with the dental school. Tyson was the only freshman... He need to recruit his friends! They only bad thing about Tyson shooting guns is he always comes home wanting to buy another one...

We had a lot of fun and THANKS FOR COMING! Next time they are here I will have a baby!!!!!!!!!!!! So exciting!
